NOVEMBER - Fearless Foundation Paper Piecing

Instructor: Kitty Wilkin

Date: Nov. 2, 2021  (Tuesday)

Time: 9am to 12pm

Location: Zoom

Fee: $ 25

Skill Level: All levels

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of foundation paper piecing, but also an arsenal of tips and tricks to ensure you never have to rip seams again (well, or at least very, very rarely!). Foundation paper piecing is a quilting technique with which you sew fabric pieces to a paper foundation by sewing along pre-drawn lines, allowing for perfect points, easily duplicated blocks, and the creation of just about any pictorial or geometric design sewn with fabric. With a bit of practice and some helpful hints along the way, foundation paper piecing opens a whole new world of quilting.
Kitty will provide the foundation patterns to print off prior to class. Each student will be able to prepare his/her own patterns before class.

JANUARY - Tumbling Block or Inner City

Instructor: Kelly Ashton

Date: Jan 4 & 5, 2022

Time: 9am to 12pm each day

Location: Zoom

Fee: $

Skill Level:

The Tumbling Block is a wonderful study in color and value, in addition to being the perfect learning ground for set-in seams!
Inner City is also a great study in color and value.  This quilt combines the best of both worlds (IMHO): some chain-piecing and some set-in seams by machine!

FEBRUARY - Jewel Box

Instructor: Karen Combs

Date: Feb 8th

Time: 9am to 1pm

Location: Zoom

Fee: $

Skill Level:
This is a beautiful quilt with the illusion of depth. Don’t let it scare you, the piecing is easy, created from just triangles! Believe it or not, this stunning quilt is created with just one block, done in different colors. Quilt is 48” x 48”.  Different layouts will be discussed in class.

Karen will send a fabric selection video, supply list and pre-cutting video before class.

In class, we will look at value tips, fabric placement, cutting and sewing tips, layout options, border options and start sewing.  Students will get quite a few blocks done in class.
After booking, Karen will send a supply list for the students. Pattern is required for class.  Pattern can be downloaded from Karen’s Etsy store for last-minute sign-ups.  Optional gradated fabrics are available from Karen’s webstore as well as a print pattern.

Please note: Class locations will vary between in person and virtual (Zoom).  Please note the location when registering for a class.
