Ocean Wave Quilting Events Monthly Guild Events • Flea Market Table - Members donate recyclable items (not necessarily quilting related) for sale. Proceeds from Flea Market Sales go to the guild treasury. Organized by Carol Fisher • Show & Tell - Held at the end of the guild business meeting every month but June and November. An opportunity for members to share completed works. Special Guild Events • Auctions In house event, held in even years to raise funds for the guild treasury. Next Auction is scheduled for October, 2014. • Member Showcase - Held in December, in conjunction with the guild's holiday luncheon, the showcase is an extended show and tell. - Members share completed projects from the year's classes, challenges, pre-meeting demonstrations and other special events. • Retreat ~ February 5 - 7, 2014 - A 3 day local getaway at the Dunes Manor Hotel in Ocean City, MD; offering two classes, endless sewing time, fun and a great opportunity to spend time in the company of other quilters. - Click here for a report of the 2012 retreat - Look for details of the 2014 retreat in late spring or early summer New Member Orientations - Held quarterly: Jan, April, July and October, the Orientation is an opportunity for new members to meet Board members and committee chairs, learn about the workings of the guild, and get better acquainted with each other. - Invitations are sent to recently joined new members prior to each gathering.
